Send several screenshots to a chat in one go

Instead of five screenshots and five pastes, take them all into one set and paste once. The chat gets an album, and with paste with text it also gets your comments as one message.

Windows, 64-bitmacOS 14 Sonoma or later

  1. Press Print Screen. The screen freezes.

Open menus and tooltips stay put. Drag over the part you need.

  2. Arrows, boxes, a marker and text

One key per tool. Shift snaps arrows to 45°.

  3. Blur that cannot be undone

Built from the pixels around the box, so there is nothing to recover.

  4. Numbered callouts with comments

A click drops a number. The comment stays on the picture or goes as text.

  5. One more, and one more

Each screenshot in a set gets a letter, its callouts become A1, A2, B1.

  6. The whole set goes into a chat at once

Your comments and the pictures arrive as one message.

  7. Or as one picture

For email and tickets: all screenshots on one sheet, comments under each.

  8. Print Screen opens Snipping Tool? One click fixes it

WellSnap takes the key over, and you can give it back at any time.

  9. Quiet updates, private by design

Updates install while you are away. Screenshots never leave your computer.

How to do it

  1. Start a set

Take a screenshot and press Shift+Enter (One more) instead of copying. It becomes screenshot A.

  2. Add the rest

Press Print Screen again for B, C and so on. The set waits in a small strip at the edge of the screen.

  3. Copy all

Click Copy all in the strip. Choose Album or One image first if you need.

  4. Paste

Ctrl+V in Telegram gives an album. Win+Alt+V pastes the comments and the pictures as one message.

Why one Ctrl+V cannot carry both pictures and text

When the clipboard holds files, Telegram and apps built on Chromium (Chrome, Edge, Discord and many more) take only the files and drop any text that comes with them. That is a rule of those apps, not something a screenshot tool can switch off.

So WellSnap does the next best thing: paste with text puts your comments into the message field first, waits a moment, and then pastes the pictures. In Telegram the comments become the album caption. WellSnap never presses Send: you look at the message and send it yourself.

Where it was checked

Each of these was checked by hand on Windows 11 with sets of 3, 10, 11 and 26 screenshots:

  • Telegram Desktop: the comments become the album caption. Above 10 screenshots or 1024 characters, the albums are pasted and the text stays on the clipboard for a separate message.
  • WhatsApp: the comments, then all screenshots as attachments of one message.
  • Discord: the comments, then attachments. More than 10 screenshots are joined into 10 pictures.
  • Word and eM Client: the comments, then all screenshots in the document or the email body.
  • Notepad: only the comment text, because a text editor cannot hold pictures.

Everything else

Any other app gets the comments first and then the screenshots as files, which is what most apps expect. Terminals are left alone: the text stays on the clipboard, and WellSnap tells you so.

Paste with text refuses to type into a window that runs as administrator, and it stops if you switch windows halfway, so nothing ends up in the wrong place.

Questions and answers

How many screenshots can a set hold?

26, from A to Z. Letters are never reused inside a set, so removing B does not rename C.

Why is Win+Alt+V not working?

The shortcut is active only while there is something to paste: a set in the strip, or a screenshot copied with separate comment text in the last 15 minutes. You can change the shortcut in Settings, Shortcuts.

Does the set survive a restart?

No. The set lives in memory and in a temporary folder, and it is cleared when WellSnap restarts. Save all keeps a copy of every screenshot in your screenshots folder, which is the Desktop unless you pick another.

Ready the next time you press Print Screen
